Financial capability programme
This programme has been designed to give young people the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of personal finance, budgeting and debt.
The programme explores the demands put on young people to ‘have now, pay later’ and the ease in which store cards are offered which supports this concept. Financial terminology is explained in a way which helps young people to understand the implications of long term commitments.
The programme combines elements of academic subjects such as Maths in a way which allows young people to enjoy the learning experience through interactive sessions. Key transferable skills are also built into the programme design to enhance the learning experience further for example, problem solving and decision making.
