Pathway to Employment
The programme is designed to prepare young people for their work placements and to enhance their chances of succeeding in their chosen career areas. Business guests representing relevant employment sectors would be involved in both the design and delivery of the programme to ensure that the activities and challenges reflect current trends applicable to these areas of employment.
This programme is delivered over a series of sessions and typical topics would include the following:
- Understanding roles and responsibilities in the work place
- Health & Safety in the work place
- Specific Working practices
- Time Management/Time Keeping
- Employment opportunities/salary bands
- Interview Skills/CV writing/body language/presentation
- Application form completion
- A number of business challenges relating to relevant sectors
- Learning from different personnel including business guests from the various employment sectors
- Work place visits
